Dogs Barking

Oh won’t you lay me down, won’t you take me down,
Oh won’t you set me down where the dewdrops never dry
Where the clouds dance in the sky
I want a summer day that never goes away and everything you say
Is like an offering to the sky, and the birds that are passing by

It’s then I hear the sounds of the dogs barking
Time to go home, where I’ll start to dream again

There is no life where I come from, there are no simple answers to the
questions that you ask, everything is made of glass
And when the heart resides in a chamber lined with papers you tend to believe what you read about, the mind is cast in doubt

Words: what have you got but words? What have you ever heard
That you could take and make into love, break into love
Deeds: lost in the garden weeds, scattered about like seeds--
How can you tell the good from bad when you want love?
